Angela Dimitriou is great Greek folk (laiko) singer, known as "Lady" of Greek Laiko song. Her real name is Aggeliki Kiourtsaki. Born in Peristeri, Athens on 18 August 1954. The lack of financial resources led her to work from a very young age. Indeed one of her first jobs was in big extile factory. In 1970 appears at the venue "ΒΗΤΑ-ΒΗΤΑ" and somewhat she begins her career. During her teens, she worked with famous singers of the folk scene as Vassilis Tsitsanis, Stratos Dionysiou, Poly Panou and others. In Thessaloniki, a record company manager discovers her. Immediately in 1978 she recorded his first vinyl, in 1979 the second and in 1980 she participated in the Thessaloniki Festival with the song "Ας ήταν να μπορώ" by Michalis Archontides but it did not made it to the finals. Her third album entitled "Γιατί να `ρθεις αργά" (1980) was a great commercial success and in 1982 signed her first contract with CBS, now Sony Music. Her career still continues today, having already worked with the composers: Christos Nikolopoulos, Stamatis Spanoudakis, Lakis Papadopoulos, Phoebus and others.
